Cut & loop carpet has a combination of high cut tufts and lower loops in a variety of sculptured patterns. Tough and durable, cut & loop carpets can be used in any place that gets a lot of activity. But, probably the most attractive feature of these carpets is the beautiful, yet subtle patterns that they can create. Unlike patterns created by using different color fibers, cut & loop patterned carpet usually uses all of the same color fibers. The pattern is created by the difference in texture between the cut ends of the fibers and the looped pieces. These carpets are great at adding a dimension of texture that creates an enhanced plush profile and camouflages traffic patterning. Here are some of our favorite cut and loop carpet styles.
Patterned carpet comes in a ton of unique looks and designs. Whether you have a specific style in mind or you haven’t quite thought about it, there are plenty of patterned carpet options out there to satisfy your specific home design. Some popular patterned wall to wall carpet ideas include carpets with striations and waves, swirls and vines, or lines, stripes, and blocks. From industrial chic to modern, farmhouse, transitional, and everything in between, the perfect patterned wall to wall carpet is out there just waiting for you to find it.
Subtle but beautiful, striations and waves in patterned carpets provide a more unique look than the traditional non-patterned carpet without taking the design over the top. Not only are patterned carpets that have striations and waves less common, they also provide movement to any room. These carpets pull the eye in a specific direction and can even make spaces look larger. Also, because striated carpets tend to be uniform in color, they offer an understated elegance that simply cannot be achieved with other carpet styles. While striations and waves are an excellent choice for nearly any home, an additional benefit is that they hide traffic marks and stains because of their patterning. That’s a win-win!
